At the age of seven, he ended his stay with the PUKKS Chrzciciel Tychy academy, which was established under the umbrella of St. John the Baptist parish. For the next five years (2007 to 2012), Jakub Kiwior proceeded to UKS Grom Tychy.

The age of 10 opened a new chapter in his young career as he enrolled with another academy, UKS GKS Tychy. Jakub was coached by coach Damian Galeja, who described him as an exceptional talent. In the coaches’ words;

You could always meet Kiwior on the school playground. You could see that he operated the ball freely in his football games. He was a kid who assimilated new exercise quickly.

When Jabuk joined GKS Tychy academy, the football school had just been formed – through a merger of several regional clubs.

GKS Tychy academy worked differently from the rest of the youth teams in Poland. Back then, the football school added judo and acrobatics to their training. The reason is to make the boys become so stiff.

At the tender age of four, Jakub and his best friend (Daniel Skiba) were made to join Grom Tychy preschool team. Established by the town’s parish of St. John the Baptist, this is a local soccer academy for kids, starting from the age of four.

The boys, who were four years old, began training with six or seven year old kids under the command of coach Krzysztof Berger. Kiwior was coached by Berger until he was 10, while Daniel stayed for a short time – because he moved to another academy, MOSM Tychy.

Krzysztof Berger was a great coach who worked differently from his colleagues. The great precursor of football training for preschoolers in Tychy added judo and acrobatics to his training routine.

In addition, Kiwior was trained in the futsal way – in a small hall and enclosed surface. That helped increase his skills by having the most touches with the ball. The coach also made him and the boys play on the beach soccer field, especially during summer.

By doing the above, the boys developed a passion for scoring goals, especially from overhead kicks. Because Kiwior was so good, he was allowed to participate in tournaments with boys who were at least three years older.

Youth career success and beyond:

One such tournament was the Deichmann championship which Jakub and his teammates won in 2008. At the age of 16, the youngster, for the first time, left his family to play for Anderlecht Brussels academy.

Jakub Kiwior’s Parents were worried about sending their son to Belgium alone. So his Dad, Piotr, made a rare decision. Jakub Kiwior’s Father suspended the construction company so he could follow his son to Beigum and watch over him in the foreign country.

Young Kiwior was brought up in the Belgian Spirit, and he left the country at the age of 19 after not getting the guarantee of first-team football. After he moved to the Slovakian club, Železiarne Podbrezová, his Dad finally returned to Poland after three years of absence.
