They began a relationship at the age of 16 after they left secondary school.

Their relationship went stronger over the years, all thanks to Wayne Rooney’s way of care and romance. Wayne Rooney revealed his passion for constantly writing love poetry to his wife, Coleen.

After successful years of dating, both parties decided to tie the knot.  Their wedding took place in Portofino, Italy, on 12 June 2008.

When he was nine years of age, he was spotted by Bob Pendleton and asked to join “Everton FC”. Rooney joined the youth team of Everton, for whom he made his professional debut in 2002 at the age of 16.

Within seven years of joining the Everton youth team, he made his professional debut in a friendly and scored a goal in 2002.

Rooney gained national prominence on the 19th of October 2002 when he became the youngest goalscorer in the history of the Premier League at 16 years and 360 days while playing for Everton (though this record has since been surpassed twice).

His goal against then-champions Arsenal was a last-minute winner and brought to an end the London side’s 30-match unbeaten run.

Controversies:

In 2006, Rooney landed an approximately $7 million book deal from HarperCollins to write his autobiography, Wayne Rooney: My Story So Far. The book put Rooney in a bit of hot water with his former manager at Everton, David Moyes, who sued his ex-player for libel.

The two reached an undisclosed settlement before the case saw the courtroom. Rooney has since written two more books as part of his contract with HarperCollins.
