Thiago and Rafinha first played at their father’s football academy investment in the year 1996 and was looked after by Rodrigo’s dad. The two boys would sometimes sleep at Rodrigo’s house when Mazinho and his wife travel for business.

After being summoned by former Real Madrid manager Manuel Pellegrini into the first team, Rodrigo’s hopes to feature in the first team brightened.
Painfully, things didn’t work as planned as Manuel Pellegrini was sacked and a new José Mourinho appointed didn’t put Rodrigo in his plans.
Jose Mourinho was only interested in big players (the likes of Ozil, Angel Di Maria, and Emmanuel Adebayor), and this left Rodrigo frustrated with no option but to leave the club.
Jose Mourinho sold Rodrigo to Benfica. While there, he met another competition. Competition for his playing position. He had an unhealthy competition with legends. They include Pablo Aimar, Javier Saviola and Nuno Gomes.
Benfica (nicknamed The Eagles) later brokered a deal to send Rodrigo out on loan to Bolton Wanderers after he wasn’t able to unseat those legends.

Adalberto Machado was born on the 3rd day of June 1964. He is a retired Brazilian footballer who played as a left-back.
Like father like son, Rodrigo’s dad attended the Flamengo youth academy. Painfully, Adalberto’s senior career began on a sad note. As he spent his first senior career year sidelined due to a leg break.
The one-club man who played only with Flamengo once struggled severely with injuries. It happened throughout his senior years. This sad development prompted an end to his career at the age of 24.
