George Tawlon Manneh Oppong Ousman Weah was born on the 1st October 1966 (age 51), Monrovia, Liberia.

George was actually brought up by his grandma after his father died. He grew up in West Point, a shantytown operated by neighbourhood gangs. He is a member of the Kru ethnic group, which hail from south-eastern Liberia’s Grand Kru County, one of the poorest areas of the country.
