Yoane Wissa is a professional football (soccer) player born on January 15, 1996, on the outskirts of Paris, France. He is of Congolese descent and primarily plays as a forward.
Wissa began his professional career playing for several lower-tier clubs in France, such as Épinay-sous-Sénart, Linas-Montlhéry and Angers. Emphatically, he is a product of the Châteauroux Football Academy.
Yoane then joined the Swiss club FC Lorient in 2018, where he experienced significant growth and success. During his time at FC Lorient, Wissa’s performances caught the attention of football enthusiasts, and he established himself as a promising talent.
He played a crucial role in helping FC Lorient achieve promotion to Ligue 1, the top division of French football, for the 2020-2021 season.
Subsequently, in October 2020, Wissa received his first-ever invitation to join the DR Congo squad for a series of friendly matches. During his second and third appearances for the national team, he showcased his talent by scoring two goals.
The first goal came in a friendly match, while the second goal was scored during a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Morocco. As of this writing, he plays for a Premier League club, Brentford, with a contract extended to 2026.
