Luke Paul Hoare Shaw was born on the 12th day of July 1995 in Kingston upon Thames, United Kingdom.

He shares his birthday with James Rodriguez, Brock Lesnar, Malala Yousafzai (Noble Peace Prize winner), Sundar Pichai (CEO of Google), and Bill Cosby.

Luke was born to his mother, Joanna Shaw and father, Paul Shaw. Growing up in Surrey, he attended Rydens Enterprise School in Hersham.

His love for Chelsea FC’s Gianfranco Zola ignited his passion for football. Little Luke grew up as a Chelsea supporter and has claimed that he originally wanted to play for the London club. In fact, he made an attempt into their academy as an eight-year-old. Shaw played at Chelsea’s development centre in Guildford, but was not offered an academy place.

Despite the disappointment, Luke was still very keen on football. He continued pursuing his dream at an early age. In 2001, he joined Hersham who later referred him to Molesey Juniors in a bid to build himself up for bigger football academies. In 2003, Southampton gave him a call.
