Dejan Lovren was born on the 5th day of July 1989. He came into this world through his Croatian parents, Silva Lovren (his mother) and Sasa Lovren (his father). Dejan grew up in the city of Zenica, SFR Yugoslavia (now Bosnia and Herzegovina).
His family fled from Yugoslavia to Munich because of the Bosnian War when Lovren was three years old, and he spent the next seven years in Germany. He shared similar childhood fate with Granit Xhaka, Luka Modric and Xherdan Shaqiri.
Lovren states that he was “I was a happy boy during my childhood days. I spoke German perfectly. I went to school, I played for a little club.” The family, however, eventually had to leave as they did not possess necessary documentation to reside in Germany. They settled in Karlovac, Croatia, 50 kilometres southwest of the capital city of Zagreb. Lovren initially found settling in Croatia difficult and struggled in school for a couple of years due to his unfamiliarity with the Croatian language. He grew up with his younger brother Davor who is also a footballer.

Lovren played for local teams NK Ilovac and NK Karlovac as a youth before joining GNK Dinamo Zagreb in 2004 where he grew up in their ranks.

Dejan Lovren confirmed infidelity from his wife just days after her affair with a forestry worker was exposed by The Sun.
The high profile couple – who met when they were 16 – faced splitting after he found out she had been dating an old friend, forestry worker Dario Torbic who was born in the year 1990. Below is a photo of Dario Torbic.
The affair started when Anita and Dario met up in December 2016 in their home city of Zagreb. Anita persuaded Dario to fly to England and they got together at a Liverpool hotel after which they swapped hundreds of love messages.
In 2017, Anita left her home in England to reportedly see a divorce lawyer. She told £200-a-month Dario, who lives in a rented flat, that they would be together and promised him she would file a divorce against Lovren, who earns £65,000-a-week in the Premier League with Liverpool. She told Dario she would move back to Zagreb with him.
