Andy once dated Stacey Miller and between both former lovers is the history of a brutal assault. On 18 October 2010, Carroll was charged with assault in an incident with his ex-girlfriend who at the end of their fight suffered head injuries.

Upon his arrest, Andy claimed it was in self-defence. The charges were later dropped due to lack of evidence. Justice finally came. In September 2017, one of the suspect, a 22-year-old Jack O’Brien was found guilty of the attempted robbery. He was sentenced to six years in prison for the offence.
