(1) The English professional footballer’s full real name is Jamie Richard Vardy and not Jamie Vardy as he is popularly called.


(2) Jamie Vardy’s had the Premier League highest top speed of 22 miles per hour for the 2015/2016 premier league season. Thou is record was later matched by a Manchester United player, Anthony Martial. The video below shows his fastest Sprint.

(3) Perhaps the most touching Jamie Vardy Biography Fact. At the age of 16 while playing football for Sheffield Wednesday, Jamie Vardy’s dreams was to play at top flier football. This dream unfortunately died off as Sheffield Wednesday gave him what is termed ‘a shocker of his life’. They released him from the club on the grounds that he was too small and verskinny. Thou at that time, Little Jamie as pictured below was considered the smallest and most skinniest player in the team.

This rejection news caused lots of upset and uncertainty for the young lad. It was shocking because Sheffield Wednesday has being a club he had supported all his life as a child. This rejection made him never to think of football. In a bid to totally forget football, he took a low paying factory job where he earned a living.

In a recent interview about his factory job, Jamie Vardy responded;

 “I was a carbon fibre technician,” he explains further. “My job involved making splints for disabled people with drop-foot. We had to do a lot of lifting into hot ovens. We were continually lifting things hundreds of times a day and it was damaging my back.”

Reports indicated that Jamie worked 12 hours shifts at his factory job.

(4) Even while working for the factory, many co-workers knew that wasn’t his call. Jamie Vardy was seriously convinced by a co-worker and friend who advised him to give football a second chance. After putting some serious thought in it, Jamie returned to searching for a club that would accept him. This time, a lower team side ‘Wickersley Youth in Rotherham’ gave him an opportunity. He once earned 30 pounds a week as a footballer in Stockbridge Park Steels.


(5) About 5 years ago from this date (15, June, 2016), Jamie Vardy was still playing for the seventh division of English football. Ideally, he played his way up to the greatest English football ladder (The Premier League). Jamie played for  Stockbridge Park Steels (2007 – 2010),  Halifax Town (2010 – 2011), Fleetwood Town (2011 – 2012) and finally with the Foxes, Leicester City (2012 to date).

(6) In the year 2007, Jamie Vardy was convicted for an assault which occurred outside a pub. This made him play football under strict conditions. A watchful eye from the British Law enforcement served as his parole offer. He was made to wear an electronic tag fitted on his body for six months. In addition to that, a curfew was imposed on him by the law which served as a disciplinary measure. This limited his football play times as he was supposed to be confined at most 6:00 pm daily.

Footage revealed he repeatedly called an East Asian man a ‘Jap‘. –‘Calling someone this name is usually considered an offense–. Despite an apology for a regrettable judgement error, he was fined and placed under some strict moral educational course by his club Leicester City FC.

(9) Jamie Vardy is a man of charity who can donate to the public. He launched the V9 Academy in November 2015. This is an annual camping programme developed to provide coaching and guidance to a total of 60 non-League footballers.
