He was born to his mother, Emma Deeney and father, Paul Anthony Burke. Troy grew up in Chelmsley Wood.

He was one of three children born to his parents, who split up when he was 11 years old. Their splitting up marked the beginning of a terrible upbringing, as explained in his early life.

It is pertinent to note that even at age 14, football hasn’t started for Troy. After his parents split, his goal was first to finish his education.

First, Troy was expelled from school when he was 14 before returning at the age of 15.

His goal of having a completed education didn’t materialize. He left school at 16 without any GCSEs and began training as a bricklayer, earning £120 a week.

Troy Deeney Biography – The Rise to Fame Success Story:

After observing education wasn’t his calling, Troy decided to take football as a last resort.

After making many applications, he was invited by the Aston Villa academy to take part in a four-day summer trial with a view to earning a youth contract.

However, he missed the first three days. This disappointed the club as they did not offer him a contract.

However, despite the disappointment of Aston Villa, a little club, Chelmsley Town, which he had previously applied for, accepted him.

While at Chelmsley, he was scouted by Walsall’s Head of Youth, Mick Halsall, who only attended the match Deeney was playing in because his son was also playing, and due to the match, he was scheduled to attend being postponed.

It was Watford who got lucky with his signature. The rest, as they say, is now history.
