A number of scouts, including that from Blackburn, came up to David Senior, his Dad. After seeking the advice of his parents. Hoilett (after a year) decided he would go to Blackburn.

Deciding to have a new life in East Lancashire wasn’t easy. It took Junior Hoilett a whole year of soul-searching to arrive at a decision. At last, his family decided to allow him to leave home in pursuit of a professional soccer career.

The reason for choosing Blackburn Rovers was that he believed it was easier to break into the club’s first team after his youth career. At that time, Junior Hoilett was three years away from being a professional soccer player.

The Canadian Winger, who played alongside Phil Jones, began a great start to his senior career with Blackburn. Hoilett, who formed a solid partnership with Benni McCarthy, shocked Diddier Drogba and Frank Lampard‘s Chelsea after a dramatic League Cup win in December 2009.

In January 2012, the Canadian Winger was honoured by FIFA as one of the thirteen players to watch. Why this great honor from soccer’s governing body?… It was because the youngster had the most dribbles per game  – the number 1 dribbler in the Premier League.

Moving on from Blackburn:

The Winger’s continued performance and the English club (who didn’t want to lose him) pushed for a contract extension. After refusing a contract renewal with Rovers, Hoilett joined Queens Park Rangers. Junior continued his fine form with some great names at QPR through these great goals.
