Radamel Falcao García Zárate was born on the 10th of February 1986 in Santa Marta, Colombia by Radamel García (father), a former footballer and Carmenza Zárate (mother), a house keeper.
Upon his birth, his dad decided to name him ‘Falcao’ based on his passion for ex Brazilian midfielder Paulo Alberto Falcao. He is not a member of his family. Ideally, the name Falcao was never used by any member of his family in history.
