Cristiano Ronaldo Childhood Story:
For Biography starters, his favourite nickname remains ‘the GOAT.’ Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro was born on the 5th day of February 1985 to his mother, Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro and late father, José Dinis Aveiro.
Upon his birth, his Dad named him ‘Ronaldo’ – in admiration for the former US president Ronald Reagan, who was just sworn in for his US second term.
Also, Ronnie’s birthplace is Funchal, located in Madeira Islands. In case you didn’t know, this is not Portugal’s mainland but one of the islands claimed by the country.
Cristiano Ronaldo is the last child of three children born of the union between his parents, Maria Dolores (a cook) and José Dinis Aveiro (a former Soldier, gardener, and kit man).
Behold, one of the earliest photos of the Football legend alongside his mum and dad after they just returned from a catholic church – Funchal civil parish of Santo António.
Growing Up as the Baby of his Household:
Ronnie grew up alongside his older brother, Hugo and two older sisters, Elma and Katia. As a last-born child of his family, the media has it that Mum and Dad pampered him a lot.
Back then, Cristiano got away scot-free whenever he commits an offence at home. Instead of owning up to his deeds, he would pretend to cry in front of his parents.
After which, his older siblings (Hugo, Elma and Katia) take blames for his misdemeanour.
Unlike his elders, being babied and spoiled took the pressure off him. Hugo, Emla, and Katia had to meet their parents’ expectations.
As a boy, Ronaldo set his dream to achieve success in his own way. He got a unique chance in life than Hugo his elder brother. It might interest you to know that while growing up, Cristiano never ran out of clothes.
From the onset, Maria Dolores dos Santos and her husband, José Dinis, ensured he gets and wears awesome collections of dresses. They use it to shade the fact that he was from a poor home.
Cristiano Ronaldo Family Background:
Everyone knows the Self-proclaimed GOAT is Football First Billionaire. Interestingly, CR7 comes from humble beginnings.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s family weren’t rich, and he experienced extreme poverty in his childhood.
The house where he grew up reflected the poverty faced by his household at that time. It serves as a lesson in humility he will never forget.
Cristiano grew up in an impoverished home and he shared a room with all his siblings.
Because of extreme poverty in his family, his mother once told the media she wanted to abort Ronaldo when she was pregnant with him.
Part of this decision came due to her husband’s alcoholism problem. Also, the fear of having too many children.
After going to the hospital, doctors refused to perform the abortion. When Maria Dolores’ request got declined, she went AWOL. CR7’s mum began drinking warm beer.
She also ran frantically, hoping for her son would die in her belly. Thankfully, that didn’t happen. Cristiano was born hale and hearty.
Cristiano Ronaldo Family Origin:
Without a doubt, everyone thinks CR7 comes from Portugal or one of its islands. This is not true.
Lifebogger’s research on the Genealogy of Cristiano reveals facts that show his lineage or family roots being traced to Praia.
This is the capital and largest city of Cape Verde – an island country in West Africa. By implication, Cristiano Ronaldo is from West Africa.
Did you know… the family of Isabel Rosa da Piedade – the mother of Humberto Cirilo Aveiro – who is Cristiano Ronaldo’s paternal grandfather – comes from Praia, Capital of Cape Verde.
At the age of 16, her family left their native Praia to survive on another Atlantic Island called ‘Madeira.’ This was where her next three generations were born.
Behold, one of her descendants is Cristiano Ronaldo, Football’s GOAT. This means CR7 has his family origin from West Africa.
Cristiano Ronaldo Football Story:
When Ronaldo was of schooling age, he got enrolled at Escola Básica e Secundária Gonçalves Zarco, where he began his elementary education. While a junior, Ronnie wasn’t interested in studying.
He was more concerned about accompanying his father to Andorinha Football club in Funchal. This was where José Dinis Aveiro took up a second job as a kit man.
Ronaldo’s disdain for school got so intense as he grew up. He would never do his homework, but rather indulge in his fast-growing passion for football. At the age of eight, he signed for Andorinha football academy.
To keep a close watch over him, his Dad (José Dinis Aveiro) decided to take a full-time job as a kit man at the academy. Helping his son lay a solid career foundation was an important role for José Aveiro.
Ronaldo’s childhood teammate Ricardo Santos, (now the coach of Andorinha) recalls that he was overly ambitious and emotionally fragile while he was at Andorinha FC. According to Ricardo;
“C RONALDO REALLY ENJOYED WINNING. WHEN THAT DIDN’T HAPPEN, RONALDO WOULD CRY. HE CRIED SO MUCH THAT HE GOT THE NICKNAME ‘CRYBABY’.”
Moving up the Youth Ranks:
After spending two years with CF Andorinha, CR7 went on to have a trial with Nacional, another academy on the island of Madeira. While playing there, people observed he had a special talent.
This was evident in the trophies and honours he won for them. Behold, a picture of the youngster as he celebrates a tournament win with his parents, club staff and some family members.
At that time, no one knew he was going to become the planet’s greatest footballer.
Leaving Parents and Family Members for Lisbon:
In a quest to improve his football skills and save his parents from poverty, Cristiano made the biggest decision of his youth. He left his family in Madeira for Lisbon at the age of 12.
That year 1997, Ronnie went on a three-day trial with Sporting CP, who signed him for a fee of £1,500 — after he passed their trials.
Leaving his parents and family members wasn’t an easy decision as he cried every day. In fact, this was the second time Ronaldo lived up to his childhood nickname “Cry Baby.” Despite the loneliness, he persevered and continued working hard.
Aiming Higher and the quest to Drop out of School:
By age 14, Ronaldo began to have that insane mentality to push himself in doing the extra-ordinary with the soccer ball.
This he did, all in the name of keeping a positive attitude of overcoming the loneliness of being away from family.
As time went on, he began disliking the idea of mixing education with football.
In his quest to focus entirely on the game, Ron came to terms with his mother to stop schooling. Although popular among students in his class, poor Ronnie never had a great time with his teachers.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s School Expulsion Story:
Did you know?… He once got expelled after throwing a chair at his teacher, who he claimed had “disrespected” him.
After his expulsion from school, Ronaldo vowed to prove his teacher wrong. He reacted to the pains of being expelled by eating and living football.
At that time, he worked on his speed and build. However, gaining excessive speed was deemed too much for his tender age.
Cristiano Ronaldo Heart Problem:
Having excessive speed as a child gave his stressed body a strong emotional response, including anxiety.
It led to Cristiano to having a racing heart disease. This was a health complication that nearly forced him to give up football.
In response to his failing heart, Sporting CP medical staff sought approval from Cristiano Ronaldo’s parents to have surgery on him.
To the joy of his family members, a laser was used to enhance his cardiac pathways. This made blood circulation in his heart become normal. Thankfully, football continued after Doctors cleared him from the hospital.
Cristiano Ronaldo Biography — The Road to Fame Story:
At age 16, CR7 decided to transform himself – becoming very ambitious because of constant hard training.
In no time, Sporting’s first-team manager László Bölöni offered him a pre-season opportunity for the senior squad. This came after he got impressed with his dribbling.
In 2003, precisely on the 12th day of August, Ronnie got the chance to meet destiny. That day, Sporting Lisbon and Manchester United had a pre-season friendly match and László Bölöni selected Ronaldo.
Did you know?… His brilliance helped Sporting beat United 3-1.
To tell the truth, the former Manchester United boss got impressed at Ronaldo’s great talent of dribbling and powerful shots. Here is the highlight of the Match that changed his destiny.
Eventually, Cristiano joined United for a fee (£12.24 million) which made him the most expensive teenager in English football history.
Upon joining United, he requested for the number 28 jersey – similar to what he wore at Sporting. Fortunately, Ronnie received the number 7 shirt instead.
Cristiano Ronaldo Biography – The Success Story:
At United, Ronny not only maintained his awesome form but improved on his skills and began to prove he can be the best footballer in the world.
Following the 2006 FIFA World Cup, he got involved in an incident where club teammate Wayne Rooney got sent off. Due to that, Ronaldo got booed throughout the 2006–07 season.
As a way of silencing English and some United fans, CR7 vowed to keep scoring goals. In no time, he broke the 20-goal barrier for the first time and won his first Premier League title.
Several collective and individual successes including his first FIFA Ballon d’Or, followed.
Ahead of the 2009–10 season, CR7 joined Real Madrid for a world-record transfer fee at the time — £80 million (€94 million) with a €1 billion buy-out clause.
At Los Blancos, he came back to his Ballon d’Or-winning form — which he won consecutively.
Scoring 451 times in 438 matches with a host of trophies and honours turned Ronnie into a self-acclaimed Football GOAT.
Following a fallout with Los Blancos president Florentino Perez, Cristiano felt he was no longer indispensable. This made him number his days with Real Madrid.
Massimiliano Allegri tried his luck and shockingly won the jackpot by signing the Legend to Juventus. At Juve, Cristiano began breaking national and club goal scoring records.
To unify his honour, he even led Portugal to gather more national trophies and honours to his cabinet.
At the time of putting up this Bio, Cristiano Ronaldo is now among World’s Top Seven Sporting Greats. The rest, as they say, is history.

Also to note, the holiday house forms just a small part of the $47 million property portfolios he owns.
This includes a home in Turin, an apartment in New York City’s Trump Tower, and a pad in La Finca, Spain. Among all CR7’s houses, he sets his eyes more on the one above.

Sadly, he and his men lost the war, one in which he saw fellow opposing soldiers committing atrocities. The war left a mental strain on him and this was how José Dinis became a chronic Alcoholic.

Back in the days, Cristiano Ronaldo’s brother was a onetime promising footballer. Sadly, he fell into a life of drinking and use of drugs in the late 1990s.
